Lash extensions are semi-permanent, hand-glued on top of your natural lashes. Unlike strip lashes, extensions are glued on individually to your natural lashes, so they're customizable and indistiguishabe from your own natural lashes.
How long do lash extensions last? 4 to 8 weeks until they naturally fall out. Once they start falling out, you can come back and have me fill in the missing lashes. You can make your extensions last indefinitely.
Do lash extensions ruin your own eyelashes? No.
What are classic, hybrid, and volume lash extensions?
Classic lashes means there's one single extension attached to one single, natural lash. It’s sometimes referred to as ‘one to one’ because it’s one extension to one lash. I dip the end of an individual extension into adhesive then apply it on top of or under your natural lash, and repeats until each lash is done. Classic is the go-to choice if you’re seeking a more natural look, giving you gorgeous longer looking lashes. This style of lashing has been around the longest, and can be done more quickly than volume looks.
Volume extensions are where two or more individual extensions are attached to each natural lash. They are first formed into fans, which is where the desired number of lashes are fanned out and as a “bouquet”, applied onto one natural lash with adhesive.
This style is also known as Russian Volume. Russian Volume creates a much more dramatic look but does take longer due to the precision and expertise involved, and you’ll need a bigger budget. If the fans are made of 6 or more extensions then this is known as Mega Volume. Mega Volume is not suitable for everyone - l inspect your natural lashes to determine whether your natural lashes are strong enough to support mega volume fans.
Hybrid Extensions are a combination of Classic and Volume. 70% classic, 30% volume. The look is achieved by mixing classic lashes and volume lashes placed strategically to frame the eyes. Hybrid extensions offer a variety of texture and more volume, but without the sometimes-unnatural look of volume lashes.
The longer you go between fills, the more fill-ins you'll need. Fill prices after 2 weeks depend on your aftercare and retention.
Where are extensions done? Will you come to me?
In my lash room. Specific temperature and humidy is critical. I don't come to you. I'm minutes from Rivertowne, Dunes West, Park West, and Planters Pointe.
Can I wear eye makeup to my lash extension appointment?
No. Please come with clean, dry skin and no eye makeup. That means no eyeshadow, eyeliner, and/or mascara. Anything on your lids or lashes affects how your extensions adhere and how long they last.
What about after care?
Wait 24 hours before getting lashes wet. Full curing takes 12+ hours.
Don't apply mascara, it can cause breakage on your extensions. Mascara removing solutions weaken your lash bond and decrease the life of your extensions.
Lashes may get tangled when sleeping or showering. Gently brush your lashes with a clean spoolie brush when you wake up, after you shower, and at the end of the day.
No picking or pulling.
No lash curler.
Don't use oil based makeup removers around your eyes. They degrade the lash bond.
Sleep on your back if you can. Silk pillowcases help.
How can I have the best lash appointment?
1. allocate enough time. Initial sets take 2 hours and up. Fillins take 1 hour and up.
2. turn your phone off. It helps you and me if you're relaxed. If you need to take and make phone calls and text, your appointment will take considerably longer and the results will be degraded. If you're
3. don't talk while I'm lashing. I'm delighted you chose me, and I want to get to know you - before and after we make your lashes beautiful. When you talk during application, muscles in your face move making appliation challenging. I am using a process called Isolation, wherein I separate each lash and apply a lash or fan to a single lash using high magnification, tiny instruments, and precise amounts of long lasting adhesive to a single lash - it's difficult when you're perfectly still, it's nearly impossible if your talking or moving.
3. like music? send me your playlist, I'll play your music during your appointment. that helps most relax
